Amazing depth and intensity to this old-vine malbec with blackberry and black-licorice character to the wine. Violets, too. It’s full and dense, yet remains energetic and long. Polished, refined tannins. A gorgeous, plush red. Drinkable now for its generosity, but let it mellow with a few years of bottle age. Better after 2024.
Rich black fruit with hints of iodine (almost sea urchin-like) and long-empty cigar box. Full-bodied with juicy fruit and well-integrated tannins that push out more pure fruit as they gradually firm up, to produce a long, long finish. This is still pretty much in nascent state and will need at least another couple of years for the evident complexity to spread right through the wine. Should be worth the wait. Try from 2024.
Lots of crushed blackcurrants on the nose, together with herbal notes, such as onion-flower, as well as vanilla stick. Full-to medium-bodied with intense fruit and herb flavors and a gentle, fine-tannin build towards a long, firm finish. Needs and other year for better integration, but the prime ingredients are well defined. Best from 2023.
Amarena cherries with spicy and chocolatey notes on the nose. Full-bodied, dense and silky palate with almost powdery tannins and a long finish of fruit and spice. Textbook Amarone. Drink or hold.
A solid core of curranty fruit with smoky and spicy notes that add complexity. Full-bodied with good balance of smoky fruit and well-integrated, velvety tannins. Drive and length to this. Nicely done. Delicious now, or hold.
A rich nose of raspberry, crushed strawberry, blueberry, coconut, cedar and sweet spice. It’s medium-to full-bodied with fine tannins and fresh acidity. Creamy, balanced and layered with vibrant, spicy character. Long and polished. 80% tempranillo and 20% garnacha. Drink or hold.
Tightly packed plum and berry on the nose, with some laurel leaves and a hint of black pepper. Medium-to full-bodied with lots of tension to the fruit and quite a tight tannin frame. It’s all there, but this is like a closed fist. Needs time to open up and expand. Best from 2023.
Currant, blackberry and some plum undertones, as well as floral and burnt-orange notes. Linear and firm on the palate with a medium to full body and a polished, tannic finish. Very clean and refined texture, yet displaying strength at the same time. Drink or hold.
Aromas of blueberry and chocolate with some walnut and blackberry, following through to a medium-bodied palate with a solid core of fruit, creamy tannins and a flavorful finish. Nice cedar and sandalwood undertones. Refined and polished. Try after 2024.
Sweet-berry, lavender and blueberry aromas follow through to a full body with round, juicy tannins and a flavorful finish. A little hard now.
Peach, dried-mango, lime-zest, clove and flint aromas. It’s medium-to full-bodied with zesty acidity and a waxy texture. Complex and focused with evolving layers of citrus, stone fruit, almonds and minerals. The palate builds and delivers such interest and beauty. Long. One of the top whites of Argentina. Drink or hold.
