The 2023 Riesling Saulheimer Schlossberg is from a west-facing site on heavy clay on limestone with great water availability. Reduction is strong on the nose, but underneath, ripe lemon glows. That lemon feeling remains central to the wine, gliding along with freshness and almost dripping with juiciness. Further hints of even riper Meyer lemon build with time. This is incredibly fine-boned and immensely salty. So fine and elegant, this is pure, bright, poised and zesty on the long finish. (Bone-dry).

Already the deep spicy and smoky nose announces the seriousness of this great Rheinhessen dry riesling. Imposing stature on the medium- to full-bodied palate, but every bit as much structure, in which fine tannins and minerally acidity deftly interlock. Still very youthful, with intense, salty, preserved lemon character in the cool, extremely long finish. From organically grown grapes. Vegan.

The 2023 Saulheimer Schlossberg Riesling trocken offers a deep, pure, intense yet refined and elegant bouquet with aromas of ripe and partly caramelized white-fleshed seed fruits and citrus fruits and notes of iron and flint. Dense and tightly structured as well as saline on the palate, this Schlossberg combines intensity and decisiveness with vitality and finesse. It is even a playful yet serious Riesling, long and with fine bitters. The 2023 is already impressive and should develop slowly in the bottle. 13% stated alcohol.
