This little brother bottling to “Menzies”—and from the same vineyard—is a comparative bargain. Still quite primary, the fruit is in the driver’s seat: cherry cordial and plum, backed heady spice, vanilla and dried violets. It’s slippery and succulent, tugged by chiseled, textural, herbflecked tannins. It’s structured enough to suggest a few more years in bottle won’t hurt. For now, pair with protein.
Deep ruby to the eye, this wine has a bouquet of black currant and mocha. It is smooth at first sip, and then opulent tannins fill the mouth, offering a backdrop for flavors of cherry, raspberry, milk chocolate and menthol that slowly recede into a soft, minty finish.
Singed cocoa nibs and hints of mocha accent this plummy, gently treading blend of predominantly Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Luscious in preserved black plum and cherry flavors, its soft, voluminous style is augmented by wisps of feathery tannins and a spicy confiture finish.
The southwest exposure of this granite-based vineyard has given structure and minerality to this ripe, wood-aged wine. It is dense and needs some time. Drink the wine from 2023.
A supple nose is loaded with ripe black-fruit aromas that accurately reflect a warm vintage. A thick palate is tannic and on the heavy side, again reflective of the year. Blackberry, plum and toast flavors remain on stage through a dry finish with simmering tannins. Drink through 2028.
One of the iconic white wines of Bordeaux, produced in small quantities, this is a powerful and rich expression of ripe Sauvignon Blanc. The fruitiness, with its tropical hints, is enhanced by the wine’s complexity, touches of spice and density. Drink this impressive wine from 2024. Multiple U.S. importers. Cellar Selection.
This blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of blackskinned berry, cedar, plum and clove. The juicy palate offers black-currant jam, licorice and sage alongside velvety tannins. Enjoy through 2026.
